Our School...

Killina N.S. is a rural, mixed, multi-grade school situated in Carbury, Co. Kildare. It currently has an enrolment of 82 pupils.

There are 4 mainstream class teachers and 1 learning support/ resource teacher. It promotes the Catholic Ethos, encouraging the children to develop fully intellectually, physically, emotionally, spiritually and morally.

The school was founded in 1955. The original building consisted of two classrooms. There was a fireplace in each classroom and a fire was lit each day. In the 1990’s a third classroom was added to the building. Then in 2006 the new extension was opened. This consisted of two additional large classrooms, toilets, storage room and principals office.

We now enjoy four classrooms and a learning support room equipped with the latest technology of overhead projectors and interactive white boards.

Outside, the school grounds have a large tarmac play area, school garden and football field. The children participate in a wide variety of sports including Gaelic Football, swimming, Gymnastics and Tag Rugby.

The school community of parents, pupils and teachers work closely together and strive to create a warm welcoming, atmosphere.
